What is Dry Eye Syndrome?

Dry Eye Syndrome, also known as keratoconjunctivitis sicca, is a chronic condition in which both the quantity and quality of the tear film may be impaired. As a result, the eyes are not sufficiently lubricated, leading to various symptoms and discomfort.

Treatment of dry eyes is necessary when symptoms interfere with daily life or cause discomfort. Early therapy helps prevent the condition from worsening or developing into a long-term problem.
